Common questions
Is this invoice template really free?
Yes — completely free, no sign-up and no watermark. Fill it in, download the PDF and send it to your customer. If you later want to send invoices via WhatsApp and track who has paid, you can create a free InvoiceSA account.
Is the invoice SARS-compliant?
It includes the fields SARS expects on a tax invoice: your business details, VAT number (if registered), an invoice number and date, a description of the work, and 15% VAT shown either added on top or extracted from VAT-inclusive prices.
How do I invoice a booking deposit for a shoot?
Send a deposit invoice or quote up front with the deposit as a line item, then reference it on the final invoice so the balance is clear. Note if the deposit is non-refundable.
Should print or usage rights be on the invoice?
Yes — commercial clients in particular expect usage or licensing to be itemised. Add it as a separate line so there is no confusion about what the fee covers.
